Essay 1

Write a 500-750 word essay explaining why you want to come to the AU SOT (your goals, intentions, and interests). What are the influencing factors which helped you choose this institution? Tell us something about the future you envision for yourself, how the seminary fits into that future, and why you are motivated to come to seminary. What role do you believe God is inviting you to undertake through this educational work?

Essay 2

Write an essay (minimum of 600 words) answering of the following questions:

▪ Describe your academic journey. Include your assessment of your strengths, limitations, and particular interests.

▪ Describe a significant event in your life which you see as a turning point for you. What did you learn? How did it change you? How are you putting what you learned into practice?

Writing Sample

Upload a writing sample that shows your preparation for theological studies at the graduate level. This might be a college paper, a professional proposal, an article for scholarly publication, etc.
